"The Italian Heritage Tours: A Fun and Easy Way to Discover Italy"

Remo Faieta, Ph.D., was born and raised in Abruzzo, a region in central Italy between the Appennini Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. He graduated from the Gregorian University in Rome with a Master’s Degree in philosophy and a Ph.D. in foreign languages from the University of Western Ontario in Canada. In 1967, he came to the U.S. as a college professor teaching in Kansas, Tennessee and Ohio.

During the 1970’s, Dr. Faieta took his foreign language students on educational trips to Italy. Soon after, many other people joined the trips. Dr. Faieta enjoyed it so much that conducting tours for adults became his full-time job. This year, Remo Faieta, Ph.D. published his book “The Italian Heritage Tours: A Fun and Easy Way to Discover Italy.” The purpose of the book is to provide readers with a complete day-by-day overview of what Faieta’s escorted group tours to Italy are all about and the great satisfaction associated with them. Faieta states that traveling to Italy with an escorted group provides a high level of safety, an upfront knowledge of expenses and a guaranteed enjoyable trip. Allowing an experienced guide to escort you around the country will grant an unforgettable experience; especially someone who is familiar with both the world-renowned tourist sites and the remote towns no other tour goes. Faieta’s book allows the reader to vacation alongside his group as they travel through Bella Italia. From Milan to Venice to Assisi to Pompeii to Rome and many other cities and towns in between, Faieta and his group indulge in local cuisine and historical sites and become a family; a family each reader feels a part of as he/she travels through the book. Perhaps the most touching chapter is Chapter 12, “Going on a Sentimental Journey.” A few of the travelers in the book have the opportunity to meet their “lost relatives” for the first time. Readers can feel the emotion as they, too, reminisce about the chance to connect to ancestors and relatives in this way. The book ends with Faieta’s guests’ own words thanking him for an unforgettable experience.

Orazio Tanelli, University Professor in Verona, NJ says in his forward, “This book surpasses all the other books about tourism to Italy because it is a true experience of life full of information on history, geography, arts, literature, religion, cuisine, fashion, local traditions, and family roots…the reader will appreciate the author’s love for Italy and his enjoyment in presenting it to us.”
