La Gazzetta asked readers about their favorite wines

Here is what some of you had to say!

I love Tuscan Sangiovese; a deep, dark, earthy red that pairs wonderfully with lamb, pork or any pasta.
John Miceli, Vice President, Miceli Dairy Products

My favorite Italian wine is Antinori Villa Toscana, but you have to let it age for 5 years after you purchase it. It best pairs with Pasta al Tonno. In one word, this wine is Heaven!
AJ Petitti, President, Petitti Garden Centers

I love a good Moscato. It’s great with fresh fruit as well as wonderful Italian cookies and desserts.
Umberto Fedeli, CEO, The Fedeli Group

My favorite Italian wine is Chianti Classico. The choice for consistent quality is Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro. This is a big, rich red wine with the classic character of a great Chianti - a wonderful bouquet with a hint of cinnamon, the beautiful ruby red color and of course the taste; dried cherries and other fruit along with the tannin which gives you the nice dry finish and the right amount of acidity to cut through the fat in rich foods. This wine goes well with many foods. I usually enjoy it with a nicedish of pasta with a good pomodoro sauce. Hey, I'm Italian!
