Trying to steal a Bruegel masterpiece worth 3 million euro

Thieves were outwitted by police when trying to steal a Bruegel masterpiece worth 3 million euro. When police were tipped off about the art gang’s plot, they swapped the masterpiece with a fake and set up a sting operation. Installing secret cameras in the church in the town of Castelnuovo Magra in Liguria in northwest Italy that housed the original, police caught the robbers on film smashing open its case with a hammer and driving off in a Peugeot. The real 1617 oil painting by Pieter Bruegel the Younger titled “The Crucifixion” was relocated to secure storage weeks prior to the burglary. At press time, police are currently looking for the culprits.
