Italians Entertain at Cleveland's Feast of the Assumption

August marks the 119th annual Feast of the Assumption in Cleveland’s Little Italy. The entertainment schedule is packed with local and national musicians showcasing their talents for all festival-goers to enjoy! Don’t miss the 2017 lineup.

Ronnie Fiorentino was born and raised in Cleveland. Formerly the lead vocalist for The Four Coins whose all-time best seller “Shangri-La” sold over 8 million copies, Ronnie now shares his talent performing at many Italian festivals and special events. With all his experience in the entertainment world, Ronnie brings you pop, show tunes, standards, swing, and ballads. Ronnie performs Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Feast of the Assumption.

The Italian Band of Cleveland has over 50 currently active members ranging in age from 15 to 85-years-old. The band has preserved the Italian American musical heritage for over 90 years and doesn’t plan to stop. While concert and symphonic marches form the core of their music, operatic tunes, orchestral works, folk music, and popular songs round out their entire repertoire. The Band will be performing on Mayfield Rd. every evening during the Feast.
Hailing from Canton, OH, Gli Italiani is a four-man group of young, energetic Italian boys playing a wide variety of music including old Italian folk songs, newer Italian hits, popular American music, and more. If you’re looking to dance all night long, don’t miss these guys in the Church Yard Tent on Saturday night!The Avanti Band best describes themselves as ‘“today’s” Italian American group.’ Infusing authentic Italian classics with a modern flair, the band is popular among festivals, fairs and special occasions such as wine tastings throughout OH, PA and WV. The band will perform on Sunday afternoon.

The Cleveland Opera Theatre will team up with the Holy Rosary Choir on the church steps Sunday evening. The renowned organization which has produced more than 50 professional productions of varying scope in the Greater Cleveland area will grace the community with its beautiful music.

A crowd favorite and festival staple, the Primavera Band is in the line-up for the Feast of the Assumption, again, this year. Performing street-side on Mayfield Rd. throughout the festival, the group will surely bring smiles to all!   

Nick Costa, a renowned singer and performer with his “golden voice,” will perform in the Church Yard Tent on Sunday evening. Cleveland’s own singing sensation has performed all over the country including Las Vegas, Palm Springs and many local spots as well.

Run Avril Run has been packing dance floors since 1999. With a crowd-pleasing song list, the group will undoubtedly get you on your feet Monday night in the Church Yard Tent.

Denny DeSapri, a local Clevelander, has been playing the accordion since he was a small boy. A natural on the instrument, Denny’s repertoire consists of jazz standards. Mixing these with old world songs, the atmosphere with Denny and his accordion becomes relaxed and enjoyable. Deanny will be in the Church Yard Tent on Tuesday evening.
