Italy in September

September is an excellent time to visit Italy. While it’s the tail end of the tourist season (prices and crowds are still on the higher end) the weather makes it all worth it. Typically, the hottest summer days have past, but the warmth and sunshine remain in September. Evenings cool off making those passeggiate even more enjoyable. If you’re a fan of outdoor festivals, then this is the month for you! September kicks of festival season in Italy: food and wine festivals, palios, religious festivals, regattas, you name it and September has it. Since Ferragosto is over, Italians are back to school and work and the beaches are much less crowded. All in all, September is a lovely time to visit Italy.
