A bid for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games would see three cities hosting the event

On August 1, the Italian Olympic Committee voted to ratify a bid for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games that would see three cities hosting the event for the first time. The bid proposes that Milan, Turin and Cortina (d’Ampezzo) as hosts for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Cortina is a winter sport resort in the Veneto located in the Dolomite mountains near Austrian border.
