IAPBC Scholarship Awards

The Italian American Businessmen’s Club of Akron and Summit County (IAPBC), Rocco Caponi, chair, announced recent scholarship award winners following a luncheon at Todaro’s Party Center. Area High School recipients each awarded $5,000 scholarships were:

Vincent Di Giacomo - Green, Joe Rizzo - Walsh Jesuit, Madison Morris - Mogadore, Delany Smith - St. Vincent-St. Mary, Justin Hofacker - St. Vincent-Saint Mary, Claudia Vacarro - Firestone, Dominic Sciaretti - St. Vincent-Saint Mary, Gracyn Noffert - Green, Jacob Di Fiore - Tallamdge and Alex Stanley - Green

The Cianciola Scholarship is administered by the IAPBC and funded by the Donato Cianciola memorial scholarship fund set up at the University of Akron. The following recipients each received $1,500:
Brent Walton, Daniel Di Donato, Nina Vacarro and Clark DiVitis

The IAPBC Grants Committee, John Villilo, chair, announced grant awards to the following:
The Italian Garden Cultural Foundation, RAMAR (the Rocco Antenucci Memorial Adult Residential Center) and Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation - $5,000;
St. Anthony of Padua parish - $2,000;
Community Pregnancy Committee and St. Anthony of Padua Montessori School - $1,000

The IAPBC is an association of Italian-American Businessmen who strive for friendship, a zealous dedication to maintain the traditions of our heritage and a strong sense of responsibility to our community; providing scholarships to worthy youths of Italian descent who are pursuing higher education; and extending a helping hand to those in need.

2016 Scholarship Recipients
