Like every year everything is ready for the long-awaited Sanremo Italian Music Festival. For Italians it is an annual appointment that has become part of the tradition in a country that wants to have fun, sing and comment on the festival at least once a year. The Festival is a moment to listen to beautiful Italian songs, but it is also an opportunity to chat on frivolous topics such as the look and style of the participants, the set design, the choice of the co-host etc.

The best part of this February appointment is that the entire Italian peninsula sings, everyone comments on the festival and reflects back to 1951 when Sanremo first came into the homes of Italians. The event has produced 58 years of music with the success of many renowned musicians, some famous throughout the world such as Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti and Andrea Bocelli. The 58th Annual Festival has in store, as always, a competition between inedited songs, interpreted by 20 artists already known to the public and a competition between inedited songs, interpreted by 14 young and less-known artists. This year, the festival will take place on February 25 through March 1. Pippo Baudo, the artistic director for the event, will be presenting along with Piero Chiambretti, actress Andrea Osvart and Bianca Guaccero as co-hosts.

The Organization will decide the schedule of events, order of performances and artists for the evenings. During the first evening, ten of the most famous artists and five artists from the youth category will perform. The top three songs from the youth cateogry with the highest votes will be admitted to the fourth evening.

The second evening will be structured as the first while during the third evening only the 20 most famous artists will perform. The artists will propose their songs in a version different from the first time performed in previous evenings, they will also be accompanied by international or Italian artists.

The fourth evening is dedicated to the young artists. The six artists admitted to the finals will perform and be voted by a jury as well as by the public and a special jury “of quality” created for the event and formed by musical and cultural experts as well as guests from showbiz.

The most voted song will be proclaimed the winner for the youth category of the festival. The evening will also include the participation of famous Italian artists, who will perform the same evening as the finalists for the youth category.

The final evening includes the performance of 20 songs from known artists, who will also be voted by the jury, the public and the jury “of quality.” The Winner of the 58th Sanremo Music Festival from the “known” artists category will be selected by adding all final votes for individual evenings throughout the event. The second and third songs will also be awarded.

Come ogni anno tutto è pronto per il prossimo attesissimo festival della Canzone italiana di Sanremo. Per gli italiani si tratta di un appuntamento da non perdere che fa ormai parte della tradizione più radicata di un Paese che ha voglia di divertirsi, almeno una volta l’anno, a cantare, commentare, discutere. Perché il Festival, è vero che è un’occasione per ascoltare belle canzoni italiane, ma è anche un’occasione per chiacchierare su argomenti frivoli come il look dei partecipanti, la scenografia, la scelta delle co-conduttrici ecc.

Il bello dell’appuntamento di febbraio è proprio questo, l’Italia tutta canticchia, dice la sua e magari riflette grazie al festival di Sanremo che dal 1951 entra nelle case degli italiani ogni anno. 58 anni di musica che hanno visto andare al successo grandi interpreti, alcuni dei quali famosi in tutto il mondo come Laura Pausini,  Eros Ramazzotti, Andrea Bocelli che hanno fatto la storia della musica e del nostro Paese.

Il 58° Festival prevede, come sempre, una competizione tra canzoni inedite, interpretate da 20 artisti Campioni cioè già conosciuti al grande pubblico e una competizione tra canzoni inedite, interpretate da 14 giovani e poco conosciuti artisti. Quest’anno il Festival si svolgerà nei giorni 25, 26, 28, 29 febbraio e sabato 1 marzo la serata finale.  Sarà presentato da Pippo Baudo che è anche il direttore artistico della manifestazione, da Piero Chiambretti e dalle attrici Andrea Osvart e Bianca Guaccero come co-conduttrici.

La suddivisione nelle serate degli artisti e il loro ordine di esibizione all'interno delle stesse saranno stabiliti dall' Organizzazione. Durante la prima serata si esibiranno 10 artisti Campioni e 5 artisti della sezione Giovani. Le 3 canzoni della sezione Giovani più votate saranno ammesse alla quarta serata.

La seconda serata sarà strutturata come la prima mentre durante la terza serata si esibiranno solo i 20 Campioni. Gli artisti proporranno la propria canzone in versione “riadattata", diversa da quella eseguita nelle serate precedenti, affiancati da artisti ospiti italiani o stranieri.

La quarta serata è dedicata alla sezione Giovani. Si esibiranno i sei artisti ammessi alla finale e saranno votati da una giuria demoscopica, dal pubblico attraverso il televoto e dalla giuria di qualità formata da esperti scelti nel campo della musica, della cultura e dello spettacolo. La canzone più votata sarà proclamata vincitrice del Festival sezione Giovani.

La Serata prevede anche la partecipazione di superospiti italiani, che si alterneranno con i finalisti della sezione Giovani. La serata finale prevede l’interpretazione delle 20 canzoni della sezione Campioni, che saranno votate, anche in questo caso dalla giuria demoscopica, dal pubblico attraverso il televoto e dalla giuria di qualità. In base alla somma dei voti complessivamente ottenuti nelle varie serate verrà stilata la graduatoria definitiva e la canzone più votata sarà proclamata vincitrice del 58° Festival della Canzone Italiana sezione Campioni. Verranno premiate anche le “canzoni-artisti" classificatesi seconda e terza.
