Strawberry Ice Cream

Think spring with Strawberry Ice Cream!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 pound ripe strawberries (the redder the better)
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 pint of water (better spring than tap)
  • 1 large hard lemon with a thinner skin than thick as it will be juicier
  • 1 orange - a juicy Florida orange is better than a California navel orange

Method

Boil the sugar in the water for ten minutes, uncovered. Press the strawberries through a strainer, squeeze in the juice of the orange and the lemon. Strain the syrup and add it to the strawberries. Pour the mixture into an ice cream machine.
